Moani Lee’s sleek approach to makeup is as meticulous as it is glamorous. Over the last decade, Moani’s discerning vision has made her an in-demand artist in the editorial, commercial, fashion and celebrity realms. Her modernist and minimalist style has endeared her to luminaries like Kacey Musgraves, Olivia Munn, Freida Pinto, Natalie Portman, Miranda Lambert, Kristen Bell, Greta Gerwig and Julie Bowen. She has worked with legendary photographers including Bruce Weber, Wayne Maser, Ruven Afanador, Diego Uchitel, Kenneth Willardt, Dewey Nicks, Anders Overgaard, Koray Birand, David Roemer, Nagi Sakai, Bjarne Jonasson and Mark Abrahams amongst others. Born in Surabaya, Indonesia, to a Hawaiian mother and a Korean father, Moani attended the University of California, Irvine where she studied Chemistry and Theater. She then honed her craft at the prestigious Christian Chauveau makeup design school in Paris.

Moani’s work is informed by an appreciation for contemporary art, design, music and dance. She credits Yoann Lemoine, Philippe Starck and Pina Bausch amongst her inspirations.

She currently resides in New York.
